I've got the "Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages" enabled in the Regional settings. I've made sure Hebrew is enabled in Microsoft Office Language Setting. I just don't understand why Windows XP can't just SEE all these fonts correctly and allow me to use them like any other font. Seems switching to HE (Hebrew) on the toolbar fixed this? Originally, Word was doing the "ignore the Hebrew font and default to some other font" thing with ALL Hebrew fonts until I installed the "language toolbar" which sits at the bottom of the Taskbar. It seemed to fix the problem of the "generic substitute." However, this time around, the replacement isn't working. I had the first problem on another computer, and I believe the font was corrupted, so I replaced it with a fresh copy. I am able to access other Hebrew fonts, however - and they *seem* to be the original fonts. It simply ignores the selection and defaults to another font. Word also refuses to allow me to select another Hebrew font within its font pull-down menu. Within Word, it replaces this one font I use (called "Stam") with a generic substitute.
